Producing hand crafted products from Great British Alpaca
Elaine Reetham has been knitting for over thirty years, and so appreciates the unique qualities of alpaca fibres. From this she became enthused in the art of processing the alpaca fleeces to produce her own alpaca wool and make her own alpaca scarves, hats, bags and clothes. In 2016, after running a mill in Horncastle for 6 years they transferred it to their farm. Working on a smaller scale enabled Elaine to work the mill single handily processing her own fleeces and still taking a number of fleeces from some of her previous customers.

For many years Elaine had an interest in keeping alpacas, and in the spring of 2007 the decision was made to take this interest further. So four alpaca girls were bought – Sabrina, Cleo, Kay, and Belinda. They soon arrived at the farm in Great Carlton, near to Louth.
Between Elaine and hubby Les (a real life retired proper farmer) it has been a natural progression to making sure the family have a happy life to produce their luscious fleeces.
A month later Belinda gave birth to Maggie May, a beautiful rose grey female cria, and in August Sabrina gave birth to a lovely white make cria called Schubert. From here the alpaca family has just grown and grown! to date we now have 50.
